The shrine is located east of the ancient city of Jerash, 4 km away in the urban part of the city. It is a recently built mosque within the Hashemite reconstruction projects for the shrines of the companions. According to Arab sources, the prophet Hud, peace be upon him, used to worship in the cave adjacent to the mosque, which is still intact in the backyard of the mosque.
