About the Site

Distinguishing itself from Jerash's other entrances, this gate stands out among the four entrances of the ancient city as it boasts three archways with semicircular designs. The central entrance is the widest, measuring 4.2 meters in width, while the two adjacent side entrances measure 2.32 meters in width.

The gate's front boasts half-columns paired with Corinthian capitals. Positioned on either side of the gate's front, at a height of 2 meters, are two arches topped with a semicircular arch, potentially designed for the placement of deity statues. Moreover, the side entrances are crowned by two robust, inwardly recessed windows, each adorned with capitals along their sides.
